Chapter 199: Because it’s Fate (1)

I was healing Seiya’s right arm in the black car driven by John Dae. Seiya was silent as he held Leon’s Artema, the thunder beast, in his left hand and was looking at it.

Inside of the car was quite quiet on the way back to Tarmine.

…After all that had happened…

Colt, who gave the final blow to Leon, was silent in the back seat, and Eich, who was usually cheerful, was quiet, perhaps out of concern for her brother. The atmosphere was heavy. However, only Celseus asked Seiya in a carefree manner.

「By the way, Mister Seiya, what are you going to do after you return to Tarmine? 」

「…We’re heading to the Principality of Galvano. 」

Celseus responded strongly to Seiya’s muttering.

「What!? Isn’t that bad!? We’ve killed Leon, you know!! 」

I nodded in agreement with Celseus’ words. Leon’s assassination would sooner or later be known all over the world. It seemed extremely dangerous to kill the head of the Principality of Galvano and then return to his base.

「That’s right, Seiya! Wouldn’t it be safer to make Tarmine our base like last time? 」

「That’s not an option. 」

John Dae muttered from the driver’s seat.

「Do you think Queen Carmilla would allow you to stay? Besides, I can’t stay in Tarmine anymore either. 」

That was right. Although John Dae was a leading figure in Tarmine, he betrayed Queen Carmilla and joined our side. All of us destroyed the Round Table of Lasting Peace.

「I will leave Tarmine for good after apologizing to the Queen. 」

Maybe it was John Dae’s kindness that he didn’t say, “It was your fault”. Incidentally, the car carrying Queen Carmilla and Princess Tiana was surrounded by guard vehicles and was returning to Tarmine through a different route.

「But it might not be so bad to make Galvano our base. 」

Suddenly, Eich mumbled.

「I think everyone except Leon’s entourage will be happy about this assassination. Especially the poor people like us. Seiya is a hero. 」

I see. For the lower class of Galvano, Leon’s murder was a long-awaited wish. Perhaps we were going to be welcomed back when we returned to Galvano.

…So in the end, did I do something good? No…No! Assassinations were no good at all!

I shook my head, realizing that I had thought something unbecoming of a goddess. I cheerfully asked Seiya in order to change the mood.

「Seiya, will you become the leader of the principality when we return to Galvano? 」

「There’s a possibility that I’ll be targeted for assassination if I become the leader of a nation, just like we did this time. 」

「I see. That’s dangerous. 」

「However, it will be easier to gather the remaining Artema if I become the head of the principality. That’s why I’m going to make Celseus the leader of Galvano. 」

Celseus let out a strange cry, “Whoa”.

「I’ll be targeted for assassination, right!? I don’t want to have that title!! 」

「Calm down. You’re not going to die that easily. You’ll be fine. 」

「How can you know that for certain? There are enemies who have Chain Destruction! 」

Celseus tried to resist in a panic, but Seiya calmly combed his hair.

「It can’t be helped. But you’re not going to be a dictator like Leon. You’ll let the people choose democratically. Choose between “Yeah” or “Yes”. 」

「…!? You gave two options, but they’re the same!! How is that democratic!? 」

Hmm. In a way, Seiya was more of a dictator than Leon…I was thinking about this when Seiya spoke with a rare, gentle voice.

「I’m going to change the name of Galvano as well. The new nation name will be the “Holy Celseus Empire”. 」

「Huh!! Why did you choose such name!? That’s lame!! 」

Eich complained. Then, Colt chuckled.

…Good. Colt seemed to be back to normal.

I felt relieved after seeing Colt’s smile, which had been silent up until now. Meanwhile, Celseus said…

「Holy…Celseus Empire…? 」

His face suddenly brightened after repeating Seiya’s words.

「That might be cool! I’m getting excited! 」

…Oh gosh!!

As I was dumbfounded at Celseus’ goofy attitude after buying into the cautious hero’s rubbish, Seiya raised his right hand, which was being treated by me.

「That’s enough. 」

「Huh? You’re not fully healed, you know? 」

「We’re arriving. 」

I looked out the window as Seiya said those words. Tarmine’s cityscape appeared in my field of vision.

「Everyone, get ready in an hour. We’ll meet in front of the castle gate. 」

Seiya uttered simply.

Seiya walked into the castle by himself as soon as we arrived at the Tarmine Kingdom.

…Could it be that Seiya…was he thinking about John Dae and me?

I somehow thought so. If we were heading to Galvano, then there was no need to go back to Tarmine. It made sense to think that we stopped by to let John Dae, and I, say goodbye to Queen Carmilla.

…Seiya, c’mon how can you be so kind sometimes!

After changing into my usual dress in the room we were assigned, I headed to the Queen’s chambers, grateful for Seiya’s thoughtfulness.
