Chapter 510: Great Revenge
The magical devilish being Gear Rabel swung her demonic legs three times in one breath. The martial arts technique could only be described as brilliant. It wasn’t a triple attack, but a series of supreme blades that rained down almost simultaneously.
Each and every one of them could be described as a fatal swing. And they weren’t swung randomly. Each swing was aimed at a vital spot.
Even in mid-air, Rabel performed a magnificent dance. She was truly an actress on a stage. She performed her dance with a set path, as determined by the script.
That was all that was needed, and the world was to continue to fit beneath her legs.
Well, unless her opponent was someone outside of that script.
The magical devilish being facing her quietly gritted his teeth. The demonic sword on his shoulder was forcefully swung down without hesitation.
…In an instant, a brilliant hue ran through that sword swing. The sound was no longer audible, and only light was visible.
What happened next was bizarre. Three flashes of light were swung down with a single violent swing. It was too absurd. It was long past the feat of a human, and it was difficult to comprehend even as a magical technique.
But Rabel didn’t even distort her sculpted expression, as she simply accepted the facts.
It seemed that the number of attacks was meaningless to the magical devilish being Lugis. He had knocked all three attacks away at once by simply eliminating the distance between them.
It wasn’t hard to understand logically. It was possible to counter multiple attacks by eliminating the distance and converging them simultaneously under one’s blade.
But it was hard to believe. There was a big gap between what was possible and actually doing it. It was hard to imagine that someone who was merely human until just the other day could perform such precise movements with a magical technique.
Suddenly, Rabel’s gaze turned to the demonic sword entwined around him. Perhaps it was the sword, which bore Altia’s heartbeat, the hero of humanity, that supported Lugis’ will.
Rabel and Lugis’ magical and deadly techniques collided repeatedly, forcing them to widen the distance between them. They both placed their feet on the ground at the same time.
「Stop, Rabel. Vrilligant isn’t your true master, you know. Why should you be obliged and obedient towards him? 」
Rabel’s eyelashes rose slightly at Lugis’ light-hearted and nonchalant words. There was no emotion there. Yet, there was a moment of hesitation about how to process and interpret Lugis’ words.
「I immediately deny your words. I always follow the right destiny. I understand this to be my fate, Lugis. 」
There was no confusion or distortion in Rabel’s words. She didn’t lie.
Therefore, she believed that correcting Lugis’ fate, transforming Filaret La Volgograd into a heart, and helping Vrilligant’s reappearance were all in accordance with fate.
Therefore, there was no way that this could be reversed.
「You are the one who must correct your behavior immediately. You are still being controlled by the curse. 」
「That sounds terrifying. I don’t remember being cursed. 」
Rabel’s beautiful lips continued to move like a doll. With her demonic legs ready, Rabel only moved her mouth. Lugis looked at her carefully.
「You would have been nothing more than a single evil under an unrighteous fate. You are cursed, and you suffer because of it…Lugis. Justice has scorned you, and goodwill has spat upon you. Who has rewarded you? Who has honored you? Don’t you think you should immediately cut all of those things off? 」
There was burning heat in Rabel’s hardened eyes. Even she didn’t know what it was. No, Rabel didn’t even know what she was talking about now. There was nothing more to say to Lugis. His fate had been righted by her own hands.
But those words spilled out of her mouth as if they were overflowing emotions.
「You once had nothing. You had no god’s favor, and no oracle of fate. The world gave you nothing no matter how much you tried to sacrifice yourself. 」
Still, Rabel continued. It had been a long time since she had spoken such length.
「But the moment you obtain something, the world praises you, and then makes you shoulder all the burden. No one knows how much they have whipped you. Only I know. Understand this immediately, Lugis…the world is full of ugliness. You have the right to exact your revenge from the bottom of your heart! 」
It was at this moment that Rabel realized that the values of beauty and ugliness had been born within her. Perhaps they had already flown into her when she caught a glimpse of Lugis’ fate and life.
Of course, Rabel knew that he had lost all his memories of his human past. But that didn’t mean those memories had been scraped away from his soul.
That was why Rabel spoke so much. It was almost as if a young child had just learned to speak, desperately trying to express her feelings.
「…Then let’s exact revenge immediately, Lugis. You have the right to destroy everything. Lord Vrilligant desires hatred that never burns out. 」
Rabel spoke loudly, holding out her hand. Her eyes were as sincere as ever. There was no falsehood, only the truth.
Revenge, huh. As he muttered this, Lugis tapped his shoulder with his demonic sword and narrowed his eyes. He looked into the distance for a moment before opening his mouth.
「It’s not that I don’t understand what you’re saying. I remember you saying those words before. So I’m sure that what you said has happened to me, and I’m sure I had those thoughts at least once. 」
Revenge was always wonderful, without exaggeration. Lugis’ cheeks seemed to be clenching as he spoke.
Seeing this, Rabel took a step forward. But Lugis opened his palm as if to stop her.
「…Even if I had those thoughts before, there’s something I want to become now, Rabel. As you say, I’m just a scoundrel. But surprisingly, even scoundrels can admire something. Living for that purpose can be a form of salvation. 」
If this is a curse, then I’ll be cursed until I die. And with those words, Lugis drew back the demonic sword from his shoulder. One could say that he showed his will to fight.
Rabel realized that she was biting her lips without realizing it. She asked as she dug his demonic legs into the ground.
「Even if it proves to be an impossible path? Answer immediately. 」
「As long as there’s a will, then there’s no such thing as impossible. At least, for me. 」
After the exchange, both of them prepared for the battle again.
At that moment. A white aurora pierced Rabel’s eyes. And it wasn’t just one. It actually fell down like rain.
…The aurora of jewels from the magical devilish being Agathos.
Rabel reflexively drew a semicircle with her demonic legs. Even with all that prowess, the aurora wasn’t completely wiped away. Rabel jumped away from the spot.
However, after she jumped, she realized that her action was a mistake. A chill ran down Rabel’s spine.
A line of black and scarlet flew through the air towards Rabel’s body. There was no point in asking what it was. Rabel was blown away by the giant sword, and after twisting, she was slammed into the ground.
One of her arms was in pain, as if it had been lost. It seemed that it had lost its function in that brief exchange.
「Hmph, you aren’t dead. Magical devilish beings are strong after all. 」
A sharp voice that seemed to pierce the space itself. The wavelength of magical power was reminiscent of a giant. Rabel looked at it as she repaired the wounds she had received.
She was there, lightly brandishing her dark scarlet sword, like a manifestation of evil itself.
「…Magical devilish being Rabel. You’ve done as you pleased with my beloved. Don’t you think that your sins should be atoned for through punishment? 」
Her words didn’t require a response. She was completely self-absorbed. All she could think about was decapitating Rabel’s head.
Rabel raised her demonic legs and said the following words.
「…I don’t remember committing a crime. Please understand immediately. Why don’t you reflect on your own actions instead? 」
Caria’s silver hair fluttered, and her cheeks distorted. There were no more words to be said, because her silence said everything that was needed.
