Chapter 119: New Monster Cultivation
A lot of things had happened, but I returned safely to the other world.
「Papa! 」
I turned towards the voice that was calling me and saw Rock running towards me, jumping right into my arms, so I quickly caught her.
「Ohhh, sorry Rock. I was away for a bit. 」
While she was in my arms, Rock replied, “I don’t mind” and leaned against me. She was still as cute as ever.
「Hey, bro. I haven’t seen you since morning, where did you go? 」
「Oh, well, here and there. 」
It seemed Jack wondered about my whereabouts, and when I looked up at the sky it seemed to be the midday sun, so it must have been about two or three hours since we had left.
Seriously, when we came back here, my dad shortened the flow of time a little. It was amazing.
I looked at him and saw that moving between worlds was quite tiring, as he sat down exhausted.
「Ah, it’s really hard to use this ability. I’m getting old, so I’m going to have to stop doing this or I’ll die in the process. 」
After saying this, he shouted, “I’m going now” and stood up.
My dad was truly weird.
「So Kyouji, I’ll leave the rest to you. I’m going to rest at the inn, so you can use what you learned as a hint at your cultivation. 」
「Okay. Thanks, dad. 」
I thanked dad as he staggered towards the inn, and he waved his right hand back.
「Well, then. Let’s get started. 」
I put down Rock, took off the bag I was carrying on my shoulder, and took out some seeds from it.
「Bro, are those new monster seeds? 」
Jack looked at the seeds I took out of the bag with curiosity.
In response, I smiled at Jack’s question.
「No, these are just seeds from Earth. But from now on, they will be my new seeds. 」
Jack heard my words with a question mark.
Ignoring Jack, I took out the Jack O’ Lantern seeds I had left in the desert wasteland, as well as some other monster seeds, placed them on a suitable rock, mixed them with the seeds I had brought from Earth, grabbed a palm-sized rock, and started smashing them all.
「Hey, bro, what are you doing? If you smash them up, they won’t become seeds, right? 」
Jack tried to stop me from doing something strange, but I took the clay that Fitis had prepared next to me and sprinkled the crushed powder in the center of the clay.
「Don’t worry, I’ll show you the results right away. It’s a new method of cultivating monsters that I’ve discovered. 」
Jack still didn’t understand what I was saying, but Fitis and Dora-chan had already heard my plan and nodded to each other with a smile, saying, “Look forward to it.”

「Hey, Shin. 」
I was walking through the palace of the Arabian Kingdom where Shin was staying.
This wasn’t a palace that was provided to us, but a palace where only Arabian royalty were allowed to live. It was something that resembled a royal castle.
When I went to the palace looking for Shin, the maid who was taking care of him told me that Shin had arrived earlier, and she showed me around.
I knew it was a little late, but he was the prince of this country and a person of considerable rank.
「Oh, there he is. 」
While I was thinking about this, I found Shin standing in front of a huge painting at the end of the corridor.
「Hey, Shin. I finally found you. What are you doing here? 」
「Ah, Kyou-san. Sorry, I was just thinking about something. 」
Shin turned around and had sad eyes, and his expression was darker than usual.
I couldn’t help but look at the painting Shin was looking at.
There was a beautiful woman with a gentle smile holding a small boy and girl.
「Shin, who that person in this painting? 」
「It is…my mother. 」
They certainly looked alike when I compared the woman in the painting with Shin.
Did that mean the boy being held was Shin? If so, who was the young girl…?
「The boy being held is Shin, right? Then, who is the girl in your mother’s other arm? 」
「She’s…」
「That’s the filthy child that whore gave birth to. 」
That was the answer from a stranger coming from the other side of the aisle.
In gorgeous clothing, with a turban wrapped around his head, and golden decorations on his arms and neck that made a jingling sound every time he walked.
At a glance, it was clear that the man was of a very high rank.
Beside him was a skinny man who looked like a priest.
「…Bother. 」
Shin said that and bowed.
I couldn’t help but bow my head as well.
「That woman is the one my father took from one of the concubines to become his wife after my mother died of illness. However, she was already pregnant with a child from another man at the time. And she passed it off as my father’s child. Shin was born just a few years after those events. 」
The man Shin called his brother spoke with a condescending tone, without hiding his feelings of contempt.
So Shin was of royal blood since he was he was the King’s son, but the child born before him did not.
Was that the girl depicted in the painting…?
The moment I raised my head to ask that question, the man’s snake-like eyes pierced me.
「Hmph, so you’re the man Shin summoned to cultivate monsters. 」
His eyes were colder and crueler than any I had ever seen before.
I had been looked at with prejudice and suspicion towards the monster cultivation I had been doing up until now, but I could still see hidden emotions such as interest and envy.
However, all I could see in this man’s eyes was utter contempt.
As if he was looking at something filthy.
Even the Hero Emperor had a certain amount of respect and admiration for me, but this man only looked at me with complete contempt.
「I don’t know what you’re doing, but this country is my property. I won’t tolerate any of you doing things that harm the interests of my country. 」
「…Brother. I asked for his help to cultivate edible monsters for our people to eat…」
In response to Shin’s explanation, the man snorted and twisted his face in displeasure.
「That’s stupid. As it stands, there’s no disadvantage to our lives. The reduction in monsters is also a good thing as it reduces the danger around our country. We can’t have more filthy monsters. If the people go hungry, that’s up to them to deal with. 」
I was about to retort at the man’s outrageous words, but I saw Shin next to me trying to hold me back, so I also quietly held myself back.
The man, who had been observing the situation, snorted again in displeasure and disappeared into the depths of the corridor.
「…I’m sorry, Kyou-san. That man is Lord Masauda. He is my brother and the first heir to the throne of this country. 」
「Oh, I see. 」
After hearing Shin’s introduction of that man, I added, “I thought for sure you were the heir of this country.”
Shin opened his eyes in a bit of surprise, then smiled.
「Huhu, no way, I’m not in such a high position. It’s true that I inherited the blood of my father, the King, but this country has been passed down from generation to generation through the first prince. I’m not qualified, and I don’t have such opportunity. 」
I could see a smile of resignation, as if he was resigned to the idea that his fate was determined by absolutes such as birth, position, or lineage.
「More importantly, you were looking for me, weren’t you? What do you want? 」
「Oh, that’s right, Shin, there’s something I want to show you. 」
Saying that, I remembered my original purpose for coming here and took Shin’s hand and started running.
「Eh, hey, what’s wrong, Kyou-san? Why are you in such a hurry? 」
「Just come with me. I want to show you my new monster, born in this desert! 」
I sensed Shin’s surprise at what I said, and then I heard him say in joy, “So that means you did it, Kyou-san!”
「Yeah, I’ll solve…this country’s monster problem! 」
😉
