Chapter 411: The Fairy King and the Fin
The moment Eldith’s fingers touched the mass of magical power, her spirit separated from her body, from the world she was before. It felt as if she were reborn. She went to a microscopic world overflowing with immature, wild power.
It was a spiritual world where matter did not yet exist. It was not tangible, yet she had to be careful. She could be overwhelmed by the amount of excessive magical power.
However, despite the danger her spirit faced, she still had an upper hand in such a hostile environment.
The mysterious world of spirits, illusions, and intangible things was still the domain of elves. She could navigate freely in this world since the person who created it was originally a fairy.
Of course, she couldn’t take it for granted.
After all, this was a world created by no common fairy, but a fairy turned demon named Drigman. He even let go of his Original Text to create it. He had to be powerful enough to conquer the core of his Original Text; by conquering it, he could use the full extent of its capacity.
What did that mean and what could it do? Eldith roughly understood. She knew her own life could be easily blown away.
Even so, there was no way she could retreat. Lugis was watching her back. After connecting those feelings in her heart, Eldith took a step into Drigman’s Original Text.
…And on that moment, Eldith’s resolve was shattered.
This world created by the Original Text was fed into Eldith’s mind as a scroll of information. In an instant, all five senses of her body felt that outer reality. From the tips of her hair to the tips of her toes, she could feel it. What that ideal world would be like.
Spreading before her eyes was a great land covered in forests. Fairies danced and laughed, and demonic beings acted as they pleased. Although there were traces of human culture in the shape of ruined temples and buildings, there was no developed cities built by humans.
The ancestors of the demon race spread beyond the horizon where nature breathed. Eldith saw an ideal world created for demonic beings to live in.
Shining in the heavens stood the only supreme Spiritual God, the so-called Bastion Beast Zebrililith. The controlled world created under that shining light looked endlessly beautiful.
It looked limitless. Unlike the world of humans, where people couldn’t live for a hundred years and repeated life and death, this was a world where values last forever.
That was right here. An ideal world created by Drigman’s wishes. Perhaps this was the world that was once created by the Spiritual God Zebrililith.
Except that there were no humans.
Eldith tightened her lips tightly while her expression got distorted and stiff. Her throat felt extremely dry, and her fingertips felt tense.
This had not yet become a reality. A world made of only spiritual substances. If so, it should be possible to destroy it. Eldith came here to accomplish that purpose.
Ah, but. Eldith thought.
“…For those who belong to the same family tree of demons, there is probably no better sight than this. How can I deny it?”
Eldith’s brain marrow was dissolved into hot, sweet nectar. It felt like the flag of reason that had been pierced to the very core of her spirit was about to rip and fall.
「…I don’t like this. I really, really dislike this. 」
Eldith let out a sob as she reflexively grabbed her head with both hands. She noticed that her teeth were chattering but she couldn’t stop clenching them.
Surely this world was too perfect for demonic beings. Humans died and their civilization was abolished. The remaining demonic nature was controlled by that absolute being.
It was boundless happiness. For fairies, for magical devilish begins, for magical beasts, and probably for elves too.
Eldith’s limbs looked unsteady. Every single part of her body seemed to be overwhelmed by that magnificent sight.
Eldith’s spirit was not as strong as Caria or Filaret’s. In fact, in her earlier days, she didn’t even try to leave the Confinement Tower, losing her mind as a result.
Her mentality was so frail that even she herself couldn’t believe it. She was so weak that she couldn’t even take a single step.
But whether it was a human or an elf. There were many people just like her.
How many people were willing to take a step into the darkness of suffering, unable to see anything? It was much better to live a normal life and suffer some pain than be courageous; a courage that could lead them to a path of hardships.
The whip of melancholy and suffering always suppressed the soul.
“…But that’s why. Yes, that’s why those who take that step are heroes.”
Eldith moved her distorted lips and carefully spew the following word. Her breathing was somehow ragged.
「…Drigman. 」
She muttered as she thought of the deceased magical devilish being. There was no reply, of course. He had now disappeared, and all that remained was his Original Text. All that remained was the will to shape this world.
However, Eldith didn’t care about that and continued to speak. It looked as if she were throwing words out into the vast world.
「What you’ve painted is an unmistakable demonic utopia. It’s amazing. I can even applaud. It’s so perfect that it feels disgusting. But. 」
“This utopia is not your ideal world, is it?”
Eldith opened her blue eyes wide and gritted her teeth as hard as she could. It was as if she were admonishing not only Drigman but herself as well.
Yes, that’s right. A world that was controlled by the strong and continued to live forever was an ideal world. There’s no denying it.
However, this was an ideal world for the demon race, not an ideal world for Drigman as an individual.
After this momentary monologue, Eldith saw Drigman’s thoughts. His repulsive past and stagnant life. What he wished for in the end didn’t align with his original thoughts.
「Are you trying to say that this demonic world is what you envisioned for yourself? That can’t be true, Fairy King. You’re just running away. You and me too. 」
Both fairies and elves shared the same origin, and they even fell into a subordinate race.
Therefore, even if the human nations were destroyed, their faith taken away, and their race disseminated. Even so, a great extent of sadness would still persist.
The Fairy King Drigman pledged all his life to the Spiritual God for the sake of the fairy race.
However, his humiliation and anger would never disappear no matter how much it withered away. But there was no reason to suppress his feelings anymore.
That’s why Eldith said with all the emotions she held as her blue eyes moistened.
「Is a world controlled by the Spiritual God the ideal world that you envisioned? You’re making my ears feel hot. It is neither a demon nor a human being who governs this world…even if it switches through thousands of times, it is only the elf, who is a corner of a fairy, that will be standing in the end. 」
“Good and bad, beauty and ugliness, respect, and contempt. It’s all up to us to decide. Fairies and elves. Nobody else can decide for us.”
“That’s why I deny the ideal world for demonic beings. What should exist is the elf, or rather, his own ideal world.”
“Besides, what about him? An ideal world without him?”
“He was the one who reached out to me when I was nobody and had nothing. He wasn’t strong neither talented.”
“He should’ve run away. He had that choice. That choice was way better. But he continued to hold my hand until the end.”
“It was precious and wonderful. It created a miracle for me.”
Therefore, Eldith refused. How much value could she find in a world without him?
Of course, she’d want to conquer even humans and let the elves take over everything. How happy she would be if he stood by her side while she accomplished such dream.
“After all, he’ll eventually be of the same species as mine. I have already planted the seeds.”
The world swirled as if responding to Eldith’s voice and emotions. Eldith spread her spirit all over the place, enveloping the world and filling it with every detail.
Eldith spoke aloud, feeling as if her spirit was being burn.
「Fairy King, please rest assured. I’m not going to do something reckless and desperate…I’m just going to strike back at the Spiritual God. I’m Fin Eldith after all. 」
The pride of fairies and elves was at stake. Eldith decided to overcome those who should’ve already gotten off the stage. After saying those words, Eldith held out her hand.
A moment, a pause.
But thereafter, the world trembled, and the vast amount of magical power began to converge. Was this in response to Eldith’s words, or was it following Eldith’s orders, who was similar in Drigman’s nature? She didn’t know the answer.
But it certainly happened. Then, a voice touched Eldith’s long ears.
…Blessings be upon you in the name of the Fairy King.
With that, only a beautiful sphere remained in Eldith’s hand. It was just a remnant of the ideal world, in the shade of a controlled azure.
Ohhhh! I’m quite surprised by Eldith’s resolve. Her determination made her grow.

Wait! What? Is she turning Lugis into an elf?
Well, Caria is becoming a ‘giant’, Eldith is an elf… I wonder if Filaret also has a way to prolonge her life? And what about Matia? Bruder and her sister are out, I guess…
Thanks for the chapter.
