A Wish To Grab Happiness – Volume 14 – Chapter 408

Chapter 408: Small World

A very small world that was born out of Drigman’s body. The ominous color inside the floating sphere was probably the controlled world that Drigman had envisioned.

It looked still. However, it was definitely eroding and expanding on the outside. It seemed that Drigman himself did everything he could to make his wish come true.

Looking at the elimination of her brethren and the manifestation of the devilish world, Jewel Bar Agathos leaked a deep sigh.

「Ah, you’re going to fall now. Just stop, Filaret. 」

Filaret swayed a lot in response to Agathos’ words. The beautiful black hair became like waves and swirled in the air.

In the first place, what exactly did she want to accomplish while clinging to Jewel Agathos? What did she want?

Agathos descended from the air immediately as she did not allow any questions. Filaret could feel the earth’s gravity again. It was not gradually, but suddenly.

This was different. This was not a descent. It was a crash. When Filaret thought so, a distorted scream leaked out of her lips. Even tears were floating in her eyes. The scene where her body got messed up because of the crash easily floated on her eyelids.

Reflexively, Filaret developed magic around her legs. It was so hot as if her blood vessels had boiled due to the quick accumulation of magic.

But she didn’t have a choice. Otherwise, a merciless death awaited her.

Filaret’s arms grabbed Agathos’ small body with a great force while falling in a frenzied appearance. Why was she doing this crazy downfall in the first place? This was so ridiculous.

「Hey, you! Can you please let me go!? 」

The ground approached them. Filaret felt a sudden gravity as if her whole body was drawn to the ground. Filaret put both feet on the ground while suppressing her trembling teeth so that it wouldn’t bite her tongue.

On that instant, her magical power leaked from both feet, and the stone floor got destroyed. The sand smoke filled the surroundings and shook Filaret’s black hair.

The bone marrow of her body almost couldn’t endure the impact of crashing and landing. Her skin was tight and cramped, and her lungs stopped breathing.

After a few seconds, Filaret realized that she was safe. Certainly, there was pain in her limbs and spine, but it seemed that her bones were not broken. They firmly responded when she moved her fingers.

Immediately, a breath of relief leaked from Filaret’s throat. It seemed that death, coming from the deadly fall of a high place, did not greet her.

With her shoulders up and down, Agathos spoke while in Filaret’s arms as if nothing had happened.

「What is it that you want from me? I appreciate your care, but this is enough. Besides, I got tired because Drigman resisted in vain. It was exhausting to remain in the air for a long time. Can you finally let me go? I hope you comply for your own good, irreverent one.」

Filaret looked back at Agathos’ white eyes while wondering which one was irreverent here.

Filaret would retaliate if Agathos didn’t reside in Leu’s body. But all she could do was twist her cheeks in the current state.

Agathos jumped off from Filaret’s arms and put her legs on the ground while gazing at Drigman. His eyes were no longer the eyes of her known brethren. It was as if looking down on a foreign substance. Despite being in a human body, Drigman’s eyes were certainly devilish. Yes, they were, but not now.

On the other hand, Filaret looked away from Agathos and explored between the wreckage gaps. There must be a person in those gaps.

Lugis fought with Drigman until the end even after piercing through Drigman’s heart. Filaret just heard that story from Agathos, but was he safe? Wasn’t Drigman’s counterattack a deadly one that even burned Agathos’ flesh?

Heart palpitations. Unknowingly, Filaret ran her legs and jumped to the nearby debris.

Was he safe? If she asked that question herself, then the answer would be no, he wasn’t safe.

Lugis was a person who never ran away. Even if his body got shattered and his meat came off. He’d never show his back to retreat.

Fighting until the death was engraved in his soul. Lugis didn’t know other ways of life. No matter how much Filaret wanted to think otherwise, that was not the reality.

Therefore, Lugis had to be here.

Filaret overlooked the surroundings, blowing off the scattered earthy smoke, while moving her black eyes incessantly. In the meantime, her heart bounced more and more. The feeling of anxiety was already overflowing her chest.

She didn’t want to think. She didn’t want to think about it. What if Lugis got killed while trying to defeat Drigman?

…If true…Filaret wondered what would happen then.

Filaret was surprisingly bewildered. Would she cry or swing her resentment until she died? Or would she go in a completely different direction?

Anyway, neither option was good. She only knew that for a fact. So she searched desperately. Her teeth rang and she knew that her movements were taking a toll on her body.

Where, where, where? As she continued to ask thar word in her brain, her black eyes finally found him.

Lugis, who fell down and looked up at the half-destroyed ceiling, and Eldith, who was supporting him. Eldith was probably strengthening the blessings of the Spiritual Arts embedded in Lugis’ body. She did it in order to save him.

Filaret felt that the area around her eyebrows was suddenly distorted. She knew what she felt then. Of course she should be relieved that his life was saved. Of course she should be thankful for Eldith who did her best to restore his health.

But it was a fact that a dark feeling was eroding Filaret’s heart. She wanted to be the one to save him. She wanted to be the person he depended on.

Filaret rushed to Lugis’ side, swallowing that dark feeling with her throat. Eldith, who supported him, loosened her cheeks slightly.

「…Your support was more than I expected, Filaret. But it arrived at the right time because I, myself, felt my life in danger.」

It seemed that she could afford to leak light words. Filaret shook her chest slightly.

「There was a child who was very enthusiastic. I just tried to go along with her even though she never heard to anything I said. 」

While saying, Filaret touched Lugis’ cheeks with her thin fingers. She concentrated her consciousness and then her magic to pour into his body.

From there, she tried to give some meaningful life force. From his bones to his blood flow, and organs. She wanted him to feel comfortable.

Knowing his approximate state, Filaret frowned and distorted her lips.

Both of his arms were almost completely destroyed. She tried to pour magic into those injuries in order to repair them, but his arms would be useless for a while.

Still, well, because he always needed her during treatment, Filaret couldn’t be exactly unhappy.

In response to Filaret’s magic, the sword with the inscription of Hero Killer shook slightly.

「…Filaret. Can you see that thing? What’s that? I have a bad feeling. Healing my wounds is important, but I think we should focus on that thing.」

Lugis moved his lips slowly in order to say those words. She could see that his breath was rough. The wounds inside his throat could be very painful.

Filaret looked at the place where Lugis signaled.

The spherical body that Drigman had created. When she saw it in her field of vision, Filaret felt extreme chills crawling from her heels. She doubted her sanity, blinked, and looked at it again.

However, that spherical body didn’t disappear, and was still floating. Unbeknownst to her, her throat was ringing loudly.

The huge amount of magical power holding in it was as large as a human size. It was even greater than what they had handled in the mercenary city of Belfein. It was gaining momentum and continuing to expand.

Was there such a thing? She wanted to believe she was wrong. But she wasn’t. This was a fact.

Before Filaret opened her mouth, a voice answered to Lugis’ question.

「…It’s a small world. The ideal controlled world just being born. If you don’t escape now, you will be swallowed by it.」

Agathos said so while narrowing her eyes. At the same time, the sound of something increasing the momentum approached Filaret’s earlobes.

  1. Ah yeah, Filaret was holding onto her all this time… she certainly has quite a lot of arm strength for a mage…
On another note, these girls’ desire for Lugis really knows nothing about time and space.
Also, Agathos is actually quite helpful, constantly warning them in advance.
Thanks for the chapter as always.
