A Wish To Grab Happiness – Volume 15 – Chapter 460

Chapter 460: The Man who Killed the Magical Devilish Being

Outside the gates of Garoua Maria a battle engulfed the sky.

There was a battle between two magical devilish beings, each eroding their territory, their existence, and their dignity.

Both magical devilish beings were possessors of the Original Text, which was their symbol of power and proof of their existence. Therefore, the Original Text was the tantamount of their existence when they used it as their weapon.

Which had a stronger ego, and which was the more superior being? Which was more worthy of continuing alive in the world?

That deadly battle was engaged between the Jewel Bar Agathos and the Gear Rabel. They were just two beings, but they showed hundreds of humans what a true struggle was.

Rabel flicked her eyelashes and stared at Agathos straight in the eyes. Agathos no longer had any strength. With wounds all over her body, there were signs that her unchanging Original Text was decaying.

And yet, she still didn’t collapse. The reason was unclear. Even though Rabel’s demonic leg made Agathos’ jewel lose its heat rays and was merely flickering in the air, it was unable to pierce Agathos.

Each fatal blow failed to strike. A swing that should’ve shattered Agathos’ magic core was dodged by a hair’s range. On the contrary, Agathos’ eyes still shone like a gem, as if ready to bite off the enemy’s head.

It was certain that this battle would eventually turn in Rabel’s favor. And yet, Agathos showed no sign of fleeing. It made no sense at all. It was completely irrational. Rabel couldn’t understand Agathos’ current situation.

That being said, even Rabel wasn’t perfect. The Jewel Agathos’ re-accelerated blow pierced Rabel’s side. Her silvery internal organs were exposed from that side, and a faint flash of light burst.

It would be no good to drag this out needlessly. It would take time to repair her wounds, and she would need to rest. Rabel heard a click inside her skull. Her lips moved naturally.

Rabel’s accumulated information had reached a conclusion about Agathos’ current situation.

「Jewel Bar Agathos. Now I understand. You have done something unusual. I will update my evaluation of you immediately. 」

Seeing Rabel pull back her demonic leg, Agathos’ eyes widened for a moment, wondering what happened. She had no idea why Rabel had stopped attacking, or why she said such a thing.

Even if she felt confused by Rabel’s actions and words, Agathos had no intention of losing to her. No matter how terrible her current situation was.

「Oh my, is that so? I guess you’ve lost hope of winning. But I’m not going to let you go. No matter how hard you try, you’re already finished. 」

Despite her arrogance, Agathos was still less talkative than usual. Even from the sidelines, it was clear that Agathos was out of breath.

Rabel wasn’t bound by Agathos’ words and spoke very plainly. Her voice, which only picked out the facts, sounded cold and cruel. Rabel pointed towards the air in a completely different direction from Agathos and strained her own demonic leg.

「You have lost your unique characteristic of completeness. You have learned how to live as a group, not as an individual. I must immediately revise my tactics to cut you off. 」

Agathos opened her eyes wide. Regardless of the truth of what Rabel was saying, Agathos realized what it meant in one second. At the same time, she wondered what Rabel was trying to accomplish.

Reflexively, she ran through the air. Agathos continued to accelerate, wrapping the jewel around her arm in an attempt to destroy Rabel’s demonic leg.

To Agathos, there were only two people connected to her now. Leu, her vessel, and the sorceress who was providing her with magical power and helping her regenerate.

Filaret La Volgograd. That was what Rabel spoke of. Agathos’ eyes burned with rage.

「You…Damn youuuu! Don’t move! I’ll tear you to pieces right now! 」

「Oh, you’re finally back to normal, huh? Sorry, but I’ll excuse myself from here. 」

Agathos’ terrifying blow didn’t even graze Rabel’s demonic leg. Ahead of that scene, Rabel’s demonic leg flew through the sky at great speed, accompanied by a loud sound that shattered the air. All to stop the Jewel’s pulsation…to kill its source.

…What echoed in everybody’s ears was a roar that tore through the air, and the sound of lightning piercing iron.

Rabel’s demonic leg was unleashed with extreme force, aiming to pierce the sorceress.

However, it changed trajectory along with a flash of lightning. Splashes of blood flew up in a severe manner, coloring the snow-covered sky.

In the end, Rabel was unable to pierce her target, only managing to grab the sorceress with both hands. It was clear who had done this.

Rabel only knew one sorcerer who could react to her flash.

「Why are you getting in my way, Sorcerer General? Respond immediately. 」

Sorcerer General Mastigius La Volgograd had blood spilling down his entire left arm like a waterfall. He used great force to go up against another great force. He knew at first glance that his arm was no longer of any use.

That was the price he paid for foolishly hitting that magical devilish being’s leg with his arm. Well, if that was all it took to deflect that magical devilish being’s blow, then perhaps it was more than enough.

Mastigius said with his face getting bluish from losing a great deal of blood.

「She is…my daughter. I may offer my pride, but I never once offered my daughter’s life. 」

Rabel turned her gaze to the sorceress she was holding captive. There was certainly a resemblance between her and Mastigius.

Not in shape, but in nature. For better or worse, living things had similar natures to their parents. That’s why Rabel knew that those beings’ primary goal was to continue their bloodline.

That knowledge allowed Rabel to show a slight understanding of what Mastigius was saying for the first time.

「Listen, General Sorcerer. And understand this immediately. I had the intention of hurting this human, but I have no intention of killing her. 」

That wasn’t a lie. Rabel couldn’t lie. She only spoke the truth. Whether it was good or bad.

Without giving the people around her time to interject, Rabel continued with her words. Her amber eyes shone with dignity.

A human who could reach a magical devilish being’s domain to this extent was rare. That’s why, Rabel wanted to use this sorceress for the sake of her master.

She only wanted to hurt in order to secure her. She spoke calmly, and at that moment, Rabel was about to swing her demonic leg once again when…

A chill ran down her spine, as if something frightening had licked her skin. At that moment, Rabel felt fear. No, she didn’t know if it was fear or not. After all, it was the first time Rabel had ever felt such a thing.

She had sensed a greater threat than her master, the Great Demon Vrilligant, and had intuitively seen her destruction. It was the first time she had felt the fear of death.

Without the slightest hint of hesitation, a line of purple lightning flew down to cut Rabel’s neck. Rabel dodged that attack reflexively.

For Rabel, there was no point in dodging an iron sword wielded by a human. A single swing from a human couldn’t even scratch a magical devilish being, an epitome of disaster.

Demons and humans had different domains, energy levels, and ranks. Great Demons and magical devilish beings were beings that couldn’t get injured by those outside their domain.

But Rabel’s keen intellect judged this attack to be a threat that could injure or even kill her.

The purple lightning flew several times, narrowly missing Rabel’s neck, eyeballs, and the tips of her ears. But when Rabel’s demonic legs tried to rip off the flesh of that purple lightning user, that said user smoothly dodged her attack.

It wasn’t possible for a human to control a sword so greatly and flexibly. In fact, that user’s core was already beginning to leave its human form.

And yet, for some reason, it still seemed to be wearing a human shell and suppressing its inner self. To Rabel, this was extremely mysterious.

「I don’t understand. Why do you remain human? There are so many paths to take…」

「…Well, because I was born a human. 」

The man wearing a green military uniform and carrying a murderous intent against demons spoke out loud. That in itself was abnormal. By nature, humans couldn’t harbor murderous intent towards demons, who were a great disaster. Humans only felt fear towards demons, or at most frustration.

At that moment, Rabel had an intuition. This man recognized the disaster that were demons as something to be annihilated. What a blasphemer who looked down on disasters as something within his own realm of killing.

It was this man.

「I see. So you are the man who killed a magical devilish being. What an irrational creature you are. 」
